I came to Dr Urbanek to address horrible TMJ issues in my jaw including headaches and constant grinding. Dr Urbanek is very knowledgeable and assertive with his instructions on treating TMJ. As soon as I began to trust the process and Dr Urbanek, my symptoms began to diminish. I can’t give a 5 star rating because I still have the clicking, but the headaches have subsided. I will always be a grinder but I’m thankful for my mouth guard, and being made aware of how I constantly worked my mouth and jaw.

I have struggled with headaches and neck pain for over 30 years. I just assumed that I was a person who would always struggle with these issues. About 4 months ago, I began having tooth sensitivity, jaw pain, and ear pain. I was taking Motrin several times a day just to provide some relief from the pain. I saw my dentist and my PCP and had a CT scan done in an attempt to diagnose my problem, but to no avail. I was told my symptoms were not indicative of TMJ disease. When I came here for my first appointment I was very impressed, the amount of knowledge Doctor Urbina had about TMJ and the way he explained what was happening was very helpful. When i first came in I could hardly open my mouth to take a bite of food, or even sometimes just talk without it locking or popping. Using this device was something I definitely had to get used to. I talked with a bad lisp for the first couple of weeks, but it only took a short time for my mouth to adjust. Before using the device I did not understand the extent of my symptoms until I caught myself not wearing it for a few days. I could feel the pressure I used to clench my teeth together and the soreness it caused. I am close to coming up on the year mark of having it and it has helped my jaw tremendously. I can finally eat whatever I want and talk just fine without it affecting me. I also tried seeing a chiropractor who said he could get the popping and clicking to go away, however after a few months of trying that I stopped my appointments because they were doing no good and just relied on the device itself. I believe that was definitely the best decision. I would recommend this to anyone who is having jaw pain, it has definitely helped in the best way!

I am someone who ignores symptoms when they are first starting. My jaw started popping normal sounds with no pain. My hearing is not good at all so I wear hearing aid device to help me with my hearing. I have a ringing in my ears really loud and distracts me when I’m not in noisy areas. I first saw Dr. Urbanek with a locking jaw. I was fitted with his splint and within two weeks the locking jaw was gone. After an extended period of time of pain and inconvenience before seeing the doctor, I was amazed at the prompt relief.
