When I came here for my first appointment I was very impressed, the amount of knowledge Doctor Urbina had about TMJ and the way he explained what was happening was very helpful. When i first came in I could hardly open my mouth to take a bite of food, or even sometimes just talk without it locking or popping. Using this device was something I definitely had to get used to. I talked with a bad lisp for the first couple of weeks, but it only took a short time for my mouth to adjust. Before using the device I did not understand the extent of my symptoms until I caught myself not wearing it for a few days. I could feel the pressure I used to clench my teeth together and the soreness it caused. I am close to coming up on the year mark of having it and it has helped my jaw tremendously. I can finally eat whatever I want and talk just fine without it affecting me. I also tried seeing a chiropractor who said he could get the popping and clicking to go away, however after a few months of trying that I stopped my appointments because they were doing no good and just relied on the device itself. I believe that was definitely the best decision. I would recommend this to anyone who is having jaw pain, it has definitely helped in the best way!

I am someone who ignores symptoms when they are first starting. My jaw started popping normal sounds with no pain. My hearing is not good at all so I wear hearing aid device to help me with my hearing. I have a ringing in my ears really loud and distracts me when I’m not in noisy areas. I thought I had fluid on the ear due to a naggy persistent dull ache; frequent headaches in my right temple area was also becoming more frequent. Little did I know I was clenching my teeth at night and the pain I was experiencing was my jaw. This was still with wearing a night guard made by my dentist.
