I came in with dizziness and ringing in my ears. I had been told back in 2009 by another doctor that there’s no cure, that they could not do anything for the ringing in my ears it’s just getting older. I was sent to Dr. Urbanek by my ENT for TMJ. I needed a new mouthpiece. I came in April 2019 and I learned about the Urbanek device. I have improved each time I came in for my checkups. My experience with Dr. Urbanek and his staff has been wonderful. I’m getting better each day. The ringing in my ears is slowly disappearing. My headaches have gone. It’s great! Dr Urbanek’s device is amazing! I have struggled with TMJ pain for 30 years or more. Four months of using the appliance and I am pain free. I have been having jaw problems for about 4 years. It started off with just pain when I opened my mouth, then it got to where it was hard to get my mouth opened all the way. Eventually it got to the point where I couldn’t open my mouth all the way at all, only half way. I came to Dr. Urbanek after suffering with ear and jaw issues for over a year. I could barely hear out of one ear, it stayed “full” feeling, and nothing seemed to help. I also have had jaw issues for at least 10 years, audible popping when eating, pain, locking up, etc. The most recent issue was that I could not open my mouth fully. I also had numerous symptoms that I did not know were related to my jaw, including waking up with my right hand completely numb a lot of morning and having issues sleeping at night. Once I received the device, the first thing I noticed was a decrease in the fullness in my right ear and my ability to hear plainly out of it. The next was the ability to open my mouth more widely. I’ve been wearing the device for several months now, over this time span I have only woke up with numb hands twice (which is a tremendous decrease), my jaw only pops/locks if I yawn widely (and not every time), my jaw pain is basically nonexistent, and my ear issues are probably 85% better. About 6 years ago, I started experiencing headaches, pain in neck, fullness in ears, constant sinus infections, and some jaw discomfort. I had been to doctor after doctor, but could not find any answers as to why these issues were not going away. I started with my right side jaw hurting when I chew. It also hurt when I yawn. I came to see Dr. Urbanek He done a fitting for my mouth and I had to wear a guard for twenty four seven for two months. It has really helped my jaw as for eating and yawning also sleeping I didn’t have the pain anymore.
